From discussing your budget to asking for references there are things you'll want to review with your architect before you begin designing your home. The construction process can be dauting so it's important to invest time early on in the journey to get to know your architect.

Katerina shares her advice on discussing the architect's project delivery and how they proposed to have your project move from design through construction. When it comes to hiring an architect you want to make sure you've taken the time to do your research and feel comfortable with the person/firm you are hiring because it is an intimate process to design a home, and Katerina understands that.

In the world of architecture there are many different career paths you can take, including becoming an architect for the U.S. military. Join Katerina on this week's episode as she sits down with fellow Illinois Tech alumni and Navy Officer Lauren to discuss what it's like to work as an architect in the U.S. Navy.
Lauren shares her journey of transitioning from the private sector to the U.S. Navy, including if the information she studied for ARE (architectural) exams is beneficial to her new role. From officer training to managing projects on a Navy base, Lauren illustrates the route you can take by serving your country while remaining in the field of architecture

The journey of attaining your architecture license can be a daunting goal but what you learn throughout the process will set you up for further success in your architecture career. On this week's episode join Katerina as she sits down with licensed architect and founder of Hyperfine Ben Norkin.
Ben shares his road to licensure and what lead him to create Hyperfine, the first architect created study tool for the ARE exams (used by Katerina to help pass her exams too!).
